5 yr. Anniversary

Woke up in Nexpa to a beautiful pink sunrise, 15ft + swell and a double rainbow. The hurricane that has been building is scheduled to hit just north in the evening, but not north enough for us to feel comfortable in the small palm roofed shacks on a, far from protected, part of the coast. So, again we drive south. We made it to Acapulco! This place is so colorful and chaotic! It is what I would picture Tokyo and Mexico City's baby to look like. We couldn't bring ourselves to stop for a room there, so we treated ourselves to a Starbucks and made our way out, but not before getting pulled over again and paying the cops off. Another $20 to support the crooked Policia. It is so frustrating!
(on another note this song behind me is a Mexican disco tech song with the only lyrics being, "Barbara Streisand")
I reach for the iPod for a go at This American Life.... So good! And I see the date. October 11. Our anniversary! Five years...A house, sailboat boat, travel trailer, shaggin' wagon, pop-up camper, 2 motor cycles, a business, child, and 3 dogs later. Holy crap!
Now it is sunset in Puerto Marques. We are eating shrimp, and a really gross fried fish, drinking Victoria cervesa and looking at the crazy winds pour into this beautiful, beautiful cove, with a big surge crashing on las rocas. Nolan and Stella are dancing, and we are mentally preparing for another days drive to Puerto Escondido.

Location:South of Acapulco,
